UPSC CSE Recruitment 2025: Notification Released for Civil Services Preliminary Examination

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the notification for the Civil Services Preliminary Examination (UPSC CSE 2025). Along with the release of the notification, the application process has also commenced. Interested and eligible candidates can visit the official website (upsc.gov.in) to apply.

UPSC CSE 2025 Application Deadline

The notification for the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination 2025 and Indian Forest Service (Preliminary) Examination 2025 has been issued. As per the official notification, the last date to apply for the UPSC CSE Preliminary Exam 2025 is February 11, 2025, by 6:00 PM.

UPSC CSE 2025 Preliminary Exam Date

The Civil Services Preliminary Examination is scheduled to be conducted on May 25, 2025. This exam will consist of two objective (multiple-choice) papers carrying a total of 400 marks. The preliminary exam will serve as a screening test, and the marks obtained in this exam will not be counted for determining the candidate’s rank in the Civil Services (Main) Examination.

UPSC CSE Selection Process

The UPSC CSE selection process is conducted in three stages:

1. Preliminary Exam: Candidates qualifying this stage are shortlisted for the next round.
2. Main Exam: Those who clear the mains are invited for the final stage.
3. Interview: Candidates who pass the mains exam undergo a personal interview round for final selection.

Vacancies in Previous Years

Last year, the UPSC had announced 1,056 vacancies for Civil Services and 150 vacancies for the Indian Forest Service. The UPSC CSE 2024 interview process is ongoing and is expected to conclude in April.

UPSC CSE 2025 Application Fee

The application fee for the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2025 is ₹100, while female candidates, SC/ST candidates, and those with benchmark disabilities are exempt from paying the fee.

To apply for the UPSC CSE Preliminary Examination 2025, follow these simple steps:

1. Visit the official UPSC website: upsc.gov.in.
2. Click on the registration link for “UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Examination 2025” on the homepage.
3. A new page will open. Complete the online registration process.
4. Log in to your account after registration.
5. Fill out the application form and pay the required fee.
6. After submitting the form, download a copy of the application and keep a printed version for future reference.
